so it was not just me :)
I'm seeing this problem on my new laptop running ubuntu and a recent e17,
never seen this on my desktop running slackware and a version of e17 which is
a few weeks old, so I was not sure if that depends on the version of e17 or on
the underlying system.
also, on this notebook I have problems with sloppy focus.
when in thunderbird I hit "N" and there are no more unread messages in that
folder TB opens a dialog asking to go to next folder, and of course this
dialog gets focus; well, when the dialog is closed focus should go back to the
main TB window, as it has always did, but now focus is actually lost and I
have to click TB window to restore focus, so for now I switched from sloppy
focus to pointer focus.
