This is a pretty old message, so I don't know if you still need help 
with it.

I had mime trouble of my own, but not because of e.

The mime type info should be in /usr/share/mime/. Specifically look for 
e binaries being listed in /usr/share/mime/packages. And read the docs 
on Freedesktop regarding the mime type stuff if you have a lot of trouble.

Don't forget to run update-mime-database <path to mime dir> after you're 
done.
