Hello World, I am new to this mailing list, but not new to Enlightenment. Indeed, I've been a "die hard" E-Addict, even in my OS/2 days.
Back then I was running Enlightenment in an emulation of Uniix X11, and loving it. Of course I did get resource problems all over the place (stack, FS free space a.s.o), and so I was glad to find E16 when I finally changed over to SuSE Linux. Now I am a heavy customizer, that was part of the reason why I stuck with OS/2, rather than surrender to Windoze. So I loved it that I could custom tailor my E-Menu structure via the ~/.e/e/applications/menu/ folder. One thing I never liked about KDE was its secretive menu society, made up of countless co-dependencies that I could never figure out. But now that I switched to E17, I find that I can no longer customize my menu structure via the above mentioned folder. None of my old settings were inherited and all my looking and searching did not reveal to me where E17 takes its menu configuration from. Using the GUI tools for menu configuration is as cumbersome to me as it is non-functional. Because E17 will not show any oy my custom installed applications (that were not installed via RPM, but directly placed into the system by me). In E16.9999 all I had to do for them to show up was to link their desktop files into: ~/.e/e/applications/menu/all, but that won't do anymore. Can anyone help me out here? I truly miss my beatifull E16.999 menu structure, sniff :-( Regards D.D. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Free Software Download: Index, Search & Analyze Logs and other IT data in Real-Time with Splunk.
