Hi everyone,

I'd like to come back to a question I asked in previous post, but up to now I
haven't found a solution.

In the applications menu, the names of application categories are not
translated. E. g., there's a category "Office", which is translated to
"Büroprogramme" in KDE and "Büro" in Xfce, if the locale setting is German.
The translations are taken from the .directory files in this directory:

        /usr/share/desktop-directories

The files define encoding, icon and translation. For office applications there
is
kde-office.directory for KDE and xfce-office.directory for Xfce.

e doesn't seem to pick any of these, and therefore application categories in
the menu appear always in English, regardless of the locale setting.

As there are no e17-<application category> files, my question is, how to go
about this?

- Where does e look for such files?
- Would the files be picked up by e, if they were named differently?
- If so, under which names?

Thanks in adance!

   Alex
