I can confirm that I am facing the same issue as well. For me it occurs when I switch off my laptop screen and use my external monitor using nvidia official driver. Resolution goes from 1600x900 to 1920x1200. The only workaround I can see is removing the systray from the shelf after the shift in resolution and then re-adding it again.
