Doh!  I had missed that menu altogether and was looking at the Settings -> 
Language instead, where there were no choices for adding or removing 
languages.  I need to spend more time to study all that e17 GUI goodness!  :-)

Yes, I was able to sort these out in less than 3 seconds.  All works as I 
wanted now.
