My installation of E17 on Arch Linux put about four icons on the desktop along the top of the screen, starting on the left side.
I would like the icons to be arranged vertically, going down the left side from the top. I can find no way to accomplish this. In fact, I can find no way to move the icons at all. If I drag the icon to a different location, it jumps back to its original location when I drop it. I think I must be missing something obvious.
