Hi,

I am new in this list although I have heard about the Enlightenment a long
time.
Recently I experimented the Enlightenment 17 directly by an aptitude
install e17 (in a LINUX MINT DEBIAN - LMDE,
in 64 bits machine, version to cinnamon and mate) and tried something like:

The ppa:hannes-janetzek/enlightenment-svn contains enlightenment packages
build from svn.

Open a terminal window and add this ppa by:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:hannes-janetzek/enlightenment-svn

Then update and install e17:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install e17

(The reason that I was using the cinnamon wm, that presents some bugs
that I could fix it.)

In both tentatives with e17 the problem was the same: many icons don't
worked as expected. Mainly:
the icons for suspend, power off, halt, simply, don't worked.

The reason is the distribution (LMDE ... is 100% Debian compatible)?
Some command's permission modified by Linux MINT?
Where's the place to edit all the buttons and icons?

Finally, if I get all source from Enlightenment 17, compile it, will
recognize all nuances from Linux Mint (LMDE)?

Thanks in advance

claudio

PS; I experimented ELIVE in this same machine ... everything works fine
(faster, nicely, lightly .... etc), why not for LMDE?
