Hi all, I have the following problem with automatic screen lock on screen saver activation: it does not lock the screen and I can't seem to find a config option to change this. (System is: Arch Linux, kernel 3.7.5, e17 0.17.0, screen module loaded, standard configuration, nothing out of the ordinary.) (To reproduce: start e17, wait for the screensaver timeout or longer. Note that I'm not sure if this effects just my system or all e17 v 0.17.0.) (Expected behavior: screen blanks, hitting a key leads do e17 asking for the user password before unlocking the screen) (What really happens: screen blanks but screen is not lock, hitting a key gives access to the e17 session without having to enter a password)
some few other things: 1. Manual screen lock works fine: (main menu -> system -> lock) 2. The "enlightenment_remote -desktop-lock" command has nothing to do with it (It doesn't work and fails with: Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "Lock" with signature "" on interface "org.enlightenment.wm.Desktop" doesn't exist ...) because I have seen this command not working on another system while screen lock works 3. Presumably, the desired behavior (screen locks when idle) could be achieved with "main menu -> settings -> settings panel -> screen -> screen lock -> custom screenlock command" ... if I only knew which command is used for the manual screen lock. 4. It should in theory also work without the "custom screenlock command" option, at least it did in previous releases 5. There are several threads in different forums discussing this or similar problems; but there are no solutions given. E.g. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=156995, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1210628#p1210628, http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/wiki/Extras), http://phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?75680-Enlightenment-E17-Alpha-8-quot-It-s-A-Good-One-quot 6. I am unable to find any e17 plain text configuration files or any e17 human readable log files (if there are any) so that I cannot provide any more detailed information. Thanks, any help greatly appreciated. -- [email protected] -- http://www.fastmail.fm - Same, same, but different... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Free Next-Gen Firewall Hardware Offer Buy your Sophos next-gen firewall before the end March 2013 and get the hardware for free!
