Starting acpid seems to have helped a little, but something is still a
bit odd..

 >> closing lid does nothing and hitting power
>> button asks me if I am sure I want to shut down.

Closing the lid now suspends - after binding it to "suspend now" rather
than "suspend".

>> The light buttons also seem to do nothing much.

Running acpid did not affect this issue.

>> I've tried changing the power button binding to do hibernate, but it
>> still asks about a shutdown.

It didn't seem like a resume from hibernate worked well, so I've also
bound the power button to suspend now, and that works.
But; when I unsuspend the computer by clicking the power button, e asks
me if I am sure I want to power off the computer..

I hope we can iron out these kinks together, I want to provide good
quality RPMs of E so more people can potentially enjoy it (on fedora)
without having to jump through any hoops ^_^

Also, I did notice suspend seemed to be slower with e than it was with
gnome..
