I'm not sure if this is an Enlightenment-specific question, but E is
where i'm running into this problem :)

The backlight module in the shelf i have on the screen works
flawlessly. It even remembers what the brightness level was and
restores it when i log in to E. The problem is that the keys on my
laptop keyboard to adjust the brightness don't work. They used to, but
somewhere along the way something broke (i think it was the update to
Ubuntu 14.10, but could have been before that even).

In a terminal (not X), showkey tells me the keys have keycodes (224
and 225). However, when i used xev, no keycodes are displayed, and
instead i get a message like:

KeymapNotify event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x0,
    keys:  1   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0
           0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0   0

The key press is detected, though... When i press either of them,
terminology's border flashes.

Would anyone know how i tell xorg, or specifically enlightenment, that
these keys are supposed to do something? I suspect that once that
works, the default "something" will be what i want, but if not i can
try fixing that next.
