I have not seen anything like this on the list and my archive search
turned up basically nothing since E17, so this must be a compiling or
config problem.

E20.7 packaged and running in Mageia RC (with lxdm as DM if that
matters) loads none of the applications or services in
~/.e/e/applications/startup/.order.

The problem first popped up as the authentication agent is not running.
After beating my head on the wall on that one, I realized that since I
do not have a systray running, I had no idea if notifications or other
applications/services were running or not. Sure enough, when I check "ps
aux" grepping the applications that should be running, none are.

Recalling having seen that openSUSE deals with the applications at
startup by suggesting starting KDE or Gnome services, I tried activating
Gnome DE services that with no change. Besides, this is not needed on
the two Manjaro installations I have been using since E18 days.

What is likely the problem here and/or how do I go about debugging it?
