this is newer than my last time i did a wizard run - i didn't even think it
was relevant (any recent changes).

it gets rid of a bunch of complexity and code that is just not needed anymore.
the "set framerate" is even in conflict with vsync based animation ticking.
this actually pointed out 2 animation code snippets that were poorly coded
and did not use proper timelines and relied on getting framerate when vsync
was being used etc. ... but why doesn't it just move on? maybe it was the
version fixes? but how would that affect not switching profile?
