Hi everyone! So ... I've pretty much finished things ready for a new round of releases. Here are releases That I plan to do:
1. EFL 1.26 2. Enlightenment 0.25 3. Rage 0.4 4. Ecrire 0.2 Rage an Ecrire are minor releases so not a lot to talk about here but they will have minor improvements and bugfixes etc. Let's talk about EFL and E. EFL has mostly had bugfixes and ... flat theme work. This means the new flat theme is essentially done AND now can be re-colored on the fly with color classes. Enlightenment has a tool (enlightenment_paledit) to edit palettes (create new ones) and select them. It's everything you need to create new palettes. you could hand-edit one using vieet (look at the existing ones). Enlightenment has had a lot of work done - it's all flattened and working well with current EFL. Lots of little bug fixes and improvements too and also new features as well. I do NOT intend to make any alpha or beta releases. This notice is "please try the above from git master and give feedback". Please enable ASAN (build efl, e etc.) with the meson option: -Db_sanitize=address and set ASAN_OPTIONS in your environment before you run e like: export ASAN_OPTIONS=detect_odr_violation=0:detect_leaks=0:abort_on_error=1::new_delete_type_mismatch=0 I have started adding some new wallpapers to e (and will remove old ones) so we have better quality wallpapers that work well with flat. I'm going to give this a few weeks then will just upload new tarballs based from the current git master trees (and will create branches and tags). So expect releases soon. I'm at the final spit and polish end of things. I will need to update enlightenment.org now to match as things look vastly different - lots of screenshots to change there. Apps that probably should get releases too: * Entice * Terminology (I just finished making it flat to match the new efl) * Evisum I won't be doing the above because these certainly have other maintainers looking after them. If there are things you want to get into the above top 4 apps - make sure you get them in now so they have some time to settle and be tested. In the meantime - everyone - kick the tires and let me know - and its nice if it's not just the bad - also the good. I KNOW the move to being flat will be controversial for some. I've explained this before. It's just what the vast majority of people want - a flat "modern look" so I've worked hard to get there. It might not be 100% perfect but it's in a very good shape and I'm sure we can, over time, fine-tune it too. -- ------------- Codito, ergo sum - "I code, therefore I am" -------------- Carsten Haitzler - ras...@rasterman.com _______________________________________________ enlightenment-users mailing list enlightenment-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/enlightenment-users
