My sincere apologies, I had some Email sync problems back when you wrote
this and never actually saw that mail until now when I went to check on
this old thread after upgrading to E 0.25 (totally my fault)

I can confirm that 
Settings/Keyboard Settings/Do not paply any keyboard settings ever
works fine.
