Using the Password Reset Button
If you forget the D2 switch login password, use the Reset button to reset the
password to the
default value as described in the following procedure.
To reset the D2 switch password:
1. Locate the reset button on the back of the switch as shown in Figure 11
on page2.
2. Preahold the reset button while the switch is operational. This
changes the login
password to the default password and will be indicated by means of the command
line
interface (CLI) only.
3. You can now logon to the switch through the console port using the default
password, and
assign a new password using the CLI.
4. To access switch management from your local PC, terminal, or modem
connection, refer to the
Enterasys Series CLI Reference for instructions on how to log in and enter
a new password.

Subject: [enterasys] Resetting Password on a D2 Switch

I've forgotten the password I put on the admin (SU) on A D2 switch (at least
what I thought I used doesn't work). Is there any way to reset the password
back to the default without losing any of the configuration or other settings?

Hope you can help!
regards,
Ger Gillen
