Hi Garry,

Yes you can install any supported IOM in the empty slots of any of the base
units. Below is a link to the Installation Guide which has some illustrations
that show this:

Good luck,

Will

Subject: [enterasys] G series compatibility

Can anyone confirm that it is possible to install a G3G-24SFP IOM into a
G3G124-24P base unit.

The reason I ask is because on the Enterasys Literature for the G3,
under the Port description for both the G3G124-24 and G3G124-24P it says

"24 fixed rj-45 10/100/1000 ports expandable to 96 (TYPE 10Base-T, Type
100Base-TX, Type 1000-BaseT) Plus 2 combo SFP Ports)"

I.E it only mentions copper based IOM's.
My reseller contact for Enterasys is off on hols at the moment, can
anyone else help?

Similarly, if I purchase a G3G170-24, can I install a copper G3G-24TX
IOM into the base unit.
The description in the literature is again unclear.
