Hi Garry, Yes you can install any supported IOM in the empty slots of any of the base units. Below is a link to the Installation Guide which has some illustrations that show this:

The reason I ask is because on the Enterasys Literature for the G3, under the Port description for both the G3G124-24 and G3G124-24P it says "24 fixed rj-45 10/100/1000 ports expandable to 96 (TYPE 10Base-T, Type 100Base-TX, Type 1000-BaseT) Plus 2 combo SFP Ports)" I.E it only mentions copper based IOM's. My reseller contact for Enterasys is off on hols at the moment, can anyone else help? Similarly, if I purchase a G3G170-24, can I install a copper G3G-24TX IOM into the base unit. The description in the literature is again unclear. -- Regards Mr.Garry Crothers MSc, MBCS Senior Network Engineer +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Information Services | [email protected] | Queens University Belfast | University Road, | Belfast, | Telephone: +44 (0)28 9097 6092 BT7 1NN | N.Ireland | Facsimile: +44 (0)28 9097 6112 --- To unsubscribe from enterasys, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe enterasys [email protected] --- To unsubscribe from enterasys, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe enterasys [email protected]
