Connie,

Try tagging ONLY vlan 100 on both ends, or - perhaps wiser - untag vlan vlan 100 on both ends _AND_ remove vlan 1 from both ports: clear vlan egress 1 ge.X.X set vlan egress 100 ge.X.X untagged

Otherwise all traffic on the 'default' vlan will traverse all the devices.

Best regards,
Dennis Roos

Hi Volker

Thanks a lot

I now have identical tags between the switch and the RBT.

However, after tagging vlan 1 on both sides (both the switch and the RBT) I lose connectivity so I have untagged both sides, connectivity restored but Im back to square one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Connie !

You have configured VLAN1 untagged and VLAN100 tagged (TAG=1) at port 1 on RBT. Do you have these configuration on the switch as well ? I think not because you tag the VLAN100 at RBT with 1 and on Switch with 100 !!!

Try to tag all VLANs (1+100) at RBT and Switch uplink to RBT with identical tags.

Thanks for your response Alex

Ive set it up in the lab to practice before the deployment.

So it is just 1 C2 switch connecting to the C3 which connects directly to the controller.

Im not sure if thats the info you are looking for.

Connie

Do you have l2 or l3 connection betwee ap and controler?
The first connect should be l2.

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has worked on the RBT-8500 controller or similar equipment before, if so please assist.

The switches are configured and can communicate with the RBT-8500.

We are running the wireless DHCP pool on our C3G switch. Our DHCP Pool allocates IP addresses to the APs successfully but we cannot get the APs to communicate with the RBT-8500 even after setting the 43 rule .

I used the quick guide for direction with the configurations.

I'm not sure what I am missing.

Please advise.

Your assistance would be highly appreciated.

Regards

Connie
