static lacp isn't comparable to cisco's flex link. cisco's flex link is an alternative to using stp for redundant l2 links. i haven't seen an enterasys equivalent.

The lacp command set offers a shortcut for creating "static" aggregations. When the command executes it displays "issuing" and then the individual commands that are set by the short cut. A static lag configuration "tells" LACP not to run protocol and to act as if the configured data had been received in LACP packets (without any packets actually being exchanged). If the specified physical ports are operstatus UP they are then marked "dormant" and the specified lag port becomes operstatus UP.
