Maybe :) but it will require new hardware. Unlike enceeypting the control
channel, we need hardware base crypto accelerators to handle the data
channel traffic due to the high volume of data on both ends.

Man! I was so stoked about that. I thought I was going to be able to
tunnel all of my traffic back VIA VPN. I'm doing that now with a site to
site VPN over 2 firewalls. Not really scalable though. Are you guys going
to add that functionality? It would be very cool. When evaluating it was
the only thing Aruba had over you. Not a deal breaker for us but it would
be very nice to be able to do it.

There is actually an error in the manual....we support encryption of
control traffic only with the 3000 series. We dont support encrypting of
the data traffic.

John,

It is an option available only in the 3600 and 3700 APs.

As shown in the manual for version 8.11, page 3-37 (137)

Enable Secure Tunnel Click to Enable or Disable secure tunnel. This
feature, when enabled, provides encryption, authentication, and key
management for data traffic between the AP and/or controllers.
*Note: *Secure tunnel can only be enabled when a V8.11compatible AP is
added to the network. Secure tunnel must be disabled for APs running
previous versions.

*Atenciosamente,*

Is anyone connecting an AP to their controller via a IPSec tunnel? This
functionality is available in 8.11 but I am not finding any documentation
on it. If you have found the doc or have figured it out I'd love to hear
about it.

Thanks
