Marki, Did you also enable it on the router (config) as well as all VLANs?
Btw This (bcmRX) is normally received traffic (could be broadcasts etc.)but there are other things as well. Could you send me your configuration- I prefer show support ( directly-> jpar...@enterasys.com) and I will review it? One thing to look at is to run the show igmpsnooping mfdb every few minutes and compare them and if you see several of the addresses or the ports change within a short time then the querier may not be set up correctly (This is where a trace(wireshark is free) is good to collect on any open port. I would capture a trace and see if something is flooding or you have many broadcasts Please feel free to open a case and ask the GTAC person to reach out to me for assistance and make me co-owner of the ticket Take care and good luck Jason Parker Engineer Support Enterasys Networks Email: jpar...@enterasys.com There is "Nothing" more important than our customers On Feb 14, 2013, at 5:01 AM, Marki <tsp+entera...@iip.lu> wrote: > Jason Parker <jparker <at> enterasys.com> writes: >> IGMP traffic >> >> Set up IGMPsnooping > > Ok, I enabled igmpsnooping on the switch (all ports) > > set igmpsnooping adminmode enable > set igmpsnooping interfacemode ge.*.*;tg.*.* enable > > and additionally the router > > ip igmp > interface vlan 123 > ip igmp enable > > It didn't help much really.... > > -> show system utilization > Total CPU Utilization: > > Switch CPU 5 sec 1 min 5 min > ------------------------------------------------- > 1 1 91% 89% 88% > > Switch:1 CPU:1 > > TID Name 5Sec 1Min 5Min > ---------------------------------------------------------- > 25b2fe0 tNetTask 0.20% 0.16% 0.07% > 27b7190 ipnetd 0.60% 0.42% 0.13% > 2c6fcd0 osapiTimer 1.40% 1.40% 1.40% > 2db82b0 bcmL2X.0 0.40% 0.40% 0.40% > 2dc8ca0 bcmCNTR.0 0.40% 0.27% 0.27% > 2de1d28 bcmTX 0.20% 0.17% 0.18% > 2f7a3c8 bcmL2X.1 1.00% 0.86% 0.85% > 2fe8e58 bcmCNTR.1 0.20% 0.27% 0.27% > 3cdb510 bcmL2X.2 0.80% 0.87% 0.89% > 3d489d8 bcmCNTR.2 0.20% 0.19% 0.19% > 3f1e950 bcmL2X.3 1.00% 1.21% 1.01% > 3f8d290 bcmCNTR.3 0.20% 0.14% 0.16% > 4161950 bcmL2X.4 0.80% 0.84% 0.88% > 41cfa58 bcmCNTR.4 0.20% 0.30% 0.30% > 42a1a18 bcmRX 18.40% 17.91% 17.95% > 47fb770 MAC Send Task 0.60% 0.60% 0.60% > 480cc68 MAC Age Task 0.00% 0.76% 0.63% > 5a54aa8 bcmLINK.0 2.20% 2.18% 2.18% > 5c68d48 bcmLINK.1 1.20% 1.28% 1.24% > 5c6e268 bcmLINK.2 0.20% 0.21% 0.22% > 5c74ff8 bcmLINK.3 0.20% 0.20% 0.21% > 5c7a518 bcmLINK.4 0.80% 0.80% 0.82% > 745d670 SysIdleTask 5.40% 7.35% 8.63% > 7fc7558 tEmWeb 0.40% 0.13% 0.03% > 806da30 hapiRxTask 13.60% 13.02% 13.07% > 8379f58 hapiL2AddrMacSyncTask 0.00% 0.02% 0.04% > 8c60168 hapiRtAsyncTask 0.00% 0.02% 0.01% > 8f8e770 macaTask 0.20% 0.03% 0.01% > 901f4e8 EDB BXS Resp 0.00% 0.03% 0.04% > 9110190 SNMPTask 3.40% 2.83% 1.95% > 9155388 RMONTask 0.00% 1.15% 1.01% > 9c792c8 dot1s_timer_task 1.40% 1.42% 1.41% > 9c8a7e8 dot1s_task 0.00% 0.00% 0.00% > a288640 snoopTask 0.00% 0.00% 0.10% > a2a0900 dot3ad_timer_task 0.00% 0.03% 0.03% > a502fc8 ipMapForwardingTask 39.60% 37.26% 38.40% > a675938 VRRPdaemon 0.60% 0.59% 0.59% > a757ec8 tArpCallback 0.00% 0.09% 0.10% > a865388 ARP Timer 0.40% 0.54% 0.58% > b75b1f8 tcdpSendTask 0.00% 0.05% 0.03% > cb629e0 sshd[0] 0.00% 0.00% 0.03% > > Storage Utilization: > Type Description Size(Kb) Available (Kb) > --------------------------------------------------------------- > RAM RAM device 262140 53839 > Flash Images, Config, Other 31484 12296 > > > ->show igmpsnooping > Admin Mode Enable > Group Membership Interval 260 > Max Response Time 100 > Multicast Router Present Expiration Time 0 > Interfaces Enabled for IGMP Snooping........... ge.1.1 > ge.1.2 > ge.1.3 > ge.1.4 > ge.1.5 > ge.1.6 > ge.1.7 > ge.1.8 > ge.1.9 > ge.1.10 > ge.1.11 > ge.1.12 > ge.1.13 > ge.1.14 > ge.1.15 > ge.1.16 > ge.1.17 > ge.1.18 > ge.1.19 > ge.1.20 > ge.1.21 > ge.1.22 > ge.1.23 > ge.1.24 > ge.2.1 > ge.2.2 > ge.2.3 > ge.2.4 > ge.2.5 > ge.2.6 > ge.2.7 > ge.2.8 > ge.2.9 > ge.2.10 > ge.2.11 > ge.2.12 > ge.2.13 > ge.2.14 > ge.2.15 > ge.2.16 > ge.2.17 > ge.2.18 > ge.2.19 > ge.2.20 > ge.2.21 > ge.2.22 > ge.2.23 > ge.2.24 > tg.3.1 > tg.3.2 > tg.3.3 > tg.3.4 > Multicast Control Frame Count.................. 573 > Data Frames Forwarded by the CPU 0 > > ->show igmpsnooping mfdb > MAC Address Type Description Interfaces > ----------------------- ------- ---------------- ------------------------- > 00:0B:01:00:5E:00:01:16 Dynamic Network Assist ge.1.2, tg.3.3 > 00:0B:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FA Dynamic Network Assist tg.3.3 > 00:0B:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FD Dynamic Network Assist ge.1.2, ge.1.9, ge.1.18, > ge.2.19, tg.3.3 > 00:0C:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FA Dynamic Network Assist > 00:0D:01:00:5E:07:07:07 Dynamic Network Assist ge.1.17, tg.3.3 > 00:20:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FA Dynamic Network Assist > 00:28:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FD Dynamic Network Assist > 00:32:01:00:5E:00:01:16 Dynamic Network Assist tg.3.3 > 00:32:01:00:5E:00:01:3C Dynamic Network Assist tg.3.3 > 00:32:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FA Dynamic Network Assist tg.3.3 > 00:32:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FD Dynamic Network Assist tg.3.3 > 00:7D:01:00:5E:00:01:16 Dynamic Network Assist > 00:7D:01:00:5E:00:01:23 Dynamic Network Assist > 00:7D:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FA Dynamic Network Assist > 00:7D:01:00:5E:7F:FF:FD Dynamic Network Assist > > > In fact all our G3's are at 20%-30% CPU even if nothing or not much is > happening > on them.
