clombard confirmed that the question is solved:
Samba smb4k in Natty or 10.10 just does NOT work. However Konqueror is able
to find my Network and mount shares
in 10.10. No problem.
Also I got the temperature display back in the menu bar.
Is the powerful browser Konqueror in 11.04...?
Some things are best left alone I guess.
