@actionparsnip: Actually, I know that I do not need Samba, I am not hosting 
anything, but as far as the connection from Nautilus makes use of the smb 
protocol, my intention was to load all smb libraries... "just in case".
As for your question, yes, I can ping between the systems.
Please accept my apologies for the ambiguity, effectively, I want to achieve a 
file transfer, but I cannot do so, as far as I cannot access the remote system 
from Nautilus, not even 'see' the computer on the network.
