gene is still having a problem:
My home folder and all folders have world read access as the default.
I do not believe write access is required for apache to get the page.
Either way - changing the www directory permissions to
drwxrwxr-x 2 me www-data 4096 Nov 27 14:55 ./
did not change anything.
