Hello all,

Our university will be holding a web/software development event for high school
students soon. The organizers have requested that we install the Firebug addon
for them. Following directions I found here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/966922 I unpacked the XPI to the
proper location under C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla
Firefox\distribution\extensions and modified the channel-prefs.js and user.js
files.

Not sure if what I did above is the best method, but it at least allows the
addon to appear in Firefox. Users still have to manually enable it. The first
user seems to be prompted with an addon install request on initial open;
however, all low privilege users who logon thereafter are not prompted. Is
there any way to auto-enable the addon? I'd even be happy to settle for getting
the installing addon request prompt to appear for all users on initial open. As
it stands, it might not be clear to students that the plugin is available.

Thanks!
