Hi, the next Firefox ESR will require Rust and we're currently figuring out how we will deal with that in our products. I'd like to clarify a couple of things:
Is there already a plan which version of Rust to use in FF59 ESR? Based on recent releases, my estimation is 1.19 or 1.20. I suppose the required version of Rust will stay the same for the whole ESR lifetime. Is that correct? Will that required version of Rust have any extended support as well or those building and shipping their own builds of Firefox are expected to either backport fixes to the original required version of Rust or follow upstream and build the ESR with newer version of Rust?
