In our organization, students profiles are wiped daily.  There's a lot of 
automatic downloading and updating Firefox does in the user profile (e.g. 
search engines, extensions, blocklists, CDMs, etc.) that is therefore wasting 
resources.

Some of these things I can see intervals for, for example search engines are 
every 6 hours.  When do they trigger for the first time?  The CDMs seem to push 
themselves almost immediately when a new profile is loaded.  The other things 
are hard to test on a new deployment that is already up-to-date.  It'd be nice 
if there was a guide for all these hidden updates and telemetry.
