How about policy instead of removing? There might be cases where people actually want the new behavior about profiles.

As well as an environment variable to turn it off. I'm investigating removing it for the ESR.

As far as the update problems go, I can't recreate this. When you go to about:policies, is the DisableAppUpdate policy active?

    Hello all,____

I understand that when a user updates to 68 from 60 they are met
with a message about being swapped to a new profile. That’s
    fine…however, I’m wondering 2 things.____

     1. Has anyone identified a way to keep the profile the same via
        policy/cck? ____
     2. I understand if you have account sync disabled, users wont be
able to create/log into the account sync, however the option to
sign up still presents itself on the page and I’ve had a few
pilot users click it and get confused on this. Has anyone been
able to hide the section that asks to Sign in or create a
        Firefox Account?____

Also, I have a version of 68.0.2 out there with update disabled for
CCK2 (last iteration I plan on using cck before 68.1), I have update
notifications disabled, however users are noting last week that when
68.1 was available, they keep getting prompted to update firefox
from the mozilla website. Has anyone observed/mitigated this? ____
