Do you have your 32 bit and 64 bit in different directories? If you install 64 bit over 32 bit, you shouldn't have that problem.
Alternatively, you can set the environment variable MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES and this behavior won't happen. See: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/understanding-depth-profile-installation As far as the places DB problem goes, that's an interesting one. It might be worth opening a bug on bugzilla.mozilla.org for that.
