If this is done, the user opens their mail, double clicks on the alias, it
expands, and then the user has no clue what just happened because they
usually have no idea where the attached files are stored, now will they
generally realize what happened, they'll be expecting a document to open, an
application to launch, etc.

I need to send the alias itself, not a compressed version.  Outlook did
this, so did Claris Emailer.  I don't want to have to go back to using an
old app just to send aliases properly.
