Round 3 and I think I have it isolated!
I discovered a few posts about the error #16385 during synch on MacFixit and
Microsofts newsgroups, whilst none of the posts got a reply from Microsoft,
one suggestion was to up memory for both HotSync Manager and Conduit
Manager, this for the moment eliminated the error for me. The fatal error on
the Palm however remains...
To make sure there isn't anything wrong with the HotSync software
installation, I reset the Palm and went back to my 2 week old Palm data and
synchronised with the Palm. No errors during the synch and no fatal errors
on the Palm whilst searching. So far so good.
Reset the Palm again, deleted the Palm user folder and proceeded to add data
to the Palm one by one, ie added Address Book, then the Notes, the Tasks and
then the Calendar data. Each was a separate HotSync set to overwrite the
Handheld. No fatal error showed until after adding the Calendar data.
To isolate further, I reset the Palm again (these are all hard resets btw)
and wrote only the Calendar data to the Palm, voila the Fatal Error
"TextMgr.c,Line:751,NULL Source" again. So it seems to be something in the
calendar database that's causing the problem.
Is this enough info to get it looked at or is this the wrong place to post
serious problems with Entourage?
