My first time on this listserv, so I apologize for raising an issue that
must have been dealt with before. But first, to Microsoft staff, who I
assume monitor and participate in this listserv: Good Job! I have been on
Macs since the original 128K model and have relied on MS Mac software
continuously since the first release of each program. I am having some
minor problems (more with PowerPoint), but generally these programs are
stable and are doing what I need.
I really like the intelligence of Entourage's "auto-complete" feature,
highlighting the most likely contact address based on recent usage.
Unfortunately, on one of my Macs (PB 2000, OS 9.4, Beta X installed, but not
in use), it displays addresses of contacts that have been deleted from the
address book.
>From the Macintouch site Office 2001 discussion group, I learned that the
solution is to rebuild the Entourage database, by holding down the option
key when launching the program. Must select "advanced rebuild" or whatever
the name is. Did it on my G3 Beige and it worked fine: solved the
problem. Did the same thing on my PowerBooks and it didn't work. Don't
have Beta X on the Beige G3 (wouldn't install), but the Office suite install
is identical.
Any suggestions?
