I'm guessing this is the same problem Office 98 had some time ago.  What
your seeing is remains of deleted files.  Let's see if I've got this
right... As an example, the File Allocation Table on your drive might be
32K, which means no file can be smaller than 32 K.  So what happens here, is
that the actual data of the sig file is less than 32K, and MS decided not to
zero the rest of the data that the file encompasses.  So when you view the
file in a text editor, you see all 32K worth of data.  However, in
Entourage, it only works with the actual signature data.  Did that make
sense?  

In this case, it's not that big of a deal, since you wouldn't share your sig
file with other people.  But I guess I better go check to see if Word files
are doing this again.
