Title: Auto-fill of email addresses
I did a clean install of my system folder yesterday (to fix a problem unrelated to Entourage). Since then the auto-fill of email addresses is acting differently.
I have two screens, a 21 inch monitor in front of me and to the right, a 17 incher. I usually have Entourage there open on the right-hand screen, and read and send email from there.
When I hit command N, in Entourage, the To: window behaves differently now, depending on whether I have the cursor over Entourage’s window, or in the 21 inch screen.
When I open a new email in the 21 inch screen, Ent behaves like I am used to – typing letters progressively narrows the names shown until just the one I want remains. Usually 3 letters is the max I have to type.
When I open a new email in the right-hand screen, and start typing letters, the list appears with the first letter, but it does not narrow in the same way when I type more letters. It disappears. So what I have to do is type the first letter, then use the trackball to slide down to the proper person.
I don’t see in the preferences how to change this. I’ll admit, it’s a tiny flaw, since I can just open new, blank emails in the other monitor space. Is there a way to play with this?
