Did you run any disk “repair” utilities such as Norton between launches? Any crash of the computer?

Subject: Entourage Trashed My Messages File
When I started Entourage today, my messages file was down to 4k from 201MB.
Fortunately I had a backup, but there is no explanation why this happened.
