I have found a problem with the help pages in Internet Explorer and Outlook
Express. I imagine that this will also apply to Entourage as well. The
problem is that the help pages apparently include a number of invalid
characters (e.g. the pages are not HTML compliant) and are missing the
character set encoding specification. The problem is most apparent when
browsing non-English web sites. For example, if I set IE to Japanese (auto
detect) to browse Japanese language web sites and bring up help in either IE
or OE, random Kanji will be displayed instead of the intended apostrophe or
quote marks. This seems to be a very common problem with web pages created
with Front Page, as the help system pages were.

The fix is to replace the invalid characters with the 7bit ASCII equivalent,
use the appropriate entity code, or specify the proper character set for the
page...

I tried to submit this problem directly to Microsoft support, but apparently
this type of bug report is considered chargeable service... Very irritating!
