One of the coolest things I can think of, is to look into Home Automation.
I use home automation products by X10.  With the Mac computer interface from
Sandhill Engineering, I would imagine you could do all sorts of neat things.
Things from turning lights on & off, setting your home thermostat,
closing/opening blinds or curtains, even feeding your fish.  The
possibilities are endless.
