It just happened to me.

Fortunately, having seen the problem mentioned several times on this list I
knew what to do, quit & restart E'rage and the inbox moved back to it's
rightful place.

However, because I saw it happen, I know what the sequence was. Hopefully
this info will help the developers track down the problem.

I created a new folder from the 'New' drop down at the top left of the
window, then renamed the new, untitled folder. I then dragged a folder that
was a subfolder of a top level folder (make sense?) into the new folder.
Nothing appeared to happen, so I thought I had missed. I dragged it again,
and both the folder I intended to move AND the inbox appeared in the new
folder.

Unfortunately, after quitting & restarting I went through the same sequence
of events and the result wasn't reproduced, so there must be some other
effect in the mix as well, but hopefully this provides a data point!
