Max:
Open up the Accounts window under Tools. Click the Mail tab. Click the New
button. You will be presented with one of two windows. Either the window
is an assistant, in which case your looking for a button that says
"Configure Manually." Or you'll see the the Manual Configure window. What
you want to do is configure it manually.
In the manual window, then, is a drop down that says "Account Type." Pick
Hotmail. Click OK. Fill out the necessary fields and you should be set to
go.
