Eric, sorry I don't have the time to review the whole thread.
by referring to "secure POP servers", do you mean servers
needing certificates?
In the past "standard" secure login to servers (including Compuserve) didn't
ever yield any problems for me -- of cause I'm connecting to just about five
servers.
Would you please elaborate on the security scheme requested by your ISP?
Or even better, provide a session log recorded with OTSessionWatcher or
Interarchy?
Atthis time, I experience freezes when logging in from at least one machine
to a FTP server from IE 5.0 using some kind of MS authentication. Honestly,
I didn't have the time for further investigation, BUT access to that server
is mission critical for me.
The funny thing is, from IE I can log in fine when I access that server
providing both user name and password within the URL, but providing uid and
pw through the popup yields a freeze for sure.
Probably our problems are related? Well, I'd do everything to get that bug
cleared out, perhaps I might be even able to provide a test account to
somebody@MS ... referring my staff to Netscrape is no option at all
because of its overly poor attachment handling.
