I am confused. I thought that if you wrote to the Carbon specification, then the app would run on Mac OS X natively, and in Mac OS 8.x ->, if there correct Carbon Lib were there. I guess that must not be entirely true – my understanding know is that you can write a Carbon app that will NOT run on a classic Mac machine. But why would you want to do that? What do you give up?
