At work I use OL2000 PC and LDAP to connect to our campus e-mail; works
great. I installed Entourage on my iMac at home and configured the LDAP
identical to the campus one --
server name: LDAP.ilstu.edu
search base: o=Illinois State University, c=US
I ask for a lookup and Entourage says finding LDAP, then says logging on,
then says "server does not support search attributes." From the same machine
I can use OL express5/Mac and get the same message. I can use VirtualPC and
OL express/Win and the search is completed properly.
It sounds to me like some switch somewhere in the LDAP server. Campus folks
say the problem is "them Macs." What should I do or look for or ask the LDAP
folks to look for to fix this?
