12-15 MB works well for me. It depends on how big you let your folders and
other directories get. When they get over 1500 messages or so, the default
memory doesn't seem enough for smooth sailing, but lack of memory didn't
cause your calendar problems. Having lots (1000 ?) of calendar events will
also want more memory for quick operation, however.
