An update on my network error problem.

Again, the problem is, if I try to send a message with an attachment, it
stalls, giving me a -3155 error code. This is only for attachments that are
larger than 100k or so.

But things are more complicated. My ISP is Mindspring (DSL), but my normal
POP email account is through my university. So, I use the Mindspring SMTP
server for sending, but my university POP for receiving. Sending Mindspring
to my university POP (or to other people too) is what is stalling and
failing. If I send Mindspring SMTP to my Mindspring POP account, all is
fine.

But, I've tried sending on other email clients -- downloaded the demos of
Eudora and Musashi. Both successfully sent large attachments from my
Mindspring SMTP to my university POP -- the same thing that fails under
Entourage.

I can't figure it out. Part of this feels like it's an ISP thing. But the
fact that the other two email clients send out the message with attachment
with no problems (and I can receive it in Entourage) seems to point to
something going on with Entourage.

I've reinstalled Entourage (just by dragging from the CD); allowed Entourage
to run the first-run installer to replace its extensions; done a disk
directory check (DiskWarrior, DFA), etc. I'm trying different files as
attachments, sending to myself or others.

I'm still really stumped by this, and if anyone has a suggestion on where I
might start tracking it down, I'd very much appreciate it.
