I’ve just received my first vCard, and following the instructions in the help system, tried to drop it onto the Address folder. However, it does not seem to want to go. Looking at the source of the message, the vcard format is version 2.1, apparently from Windows Outlook. The version created by Entourage is version 3.0. Would this be why I am having a problem? (Note: I already have a small entry for this individual that I created some time ago, would this be the problem?)

I don’t know about the different versions, but you should be able to just double-click on it and when it comes up hit “Save”. That should add it to your book. I think Erage may even let you know if you have a duplicate, but don’t quote me on that.
Okay, opening the vCard and hitting Save created an entry. It was a duplicate entry, without a warning. So it appears that the instructions in the help system are wrong, or there is a bug in vCard support. Either way, it should be on the bug list.

Just out of interest, if you've been doing this a lot: do any of these duplicated made-by-vCard contacts then appear with an odd icon when you autofill them in mail messages? It has the arm outstretched and two vertical lines (see below). It's actually an "LDAP" icon that's only supposed to show after an LDAP search. Or if you drag the contact to the message it appears as an @ sign? And if you try to edit the contact, you can't because of "not enough memory"? It may or may not have anything to do with vCards it's just that that's how mine got made initially. If anyone is seeing this odd behavior and knows how to replicate it, could you please let us know?
Many thanks.
