Um, considering your first request, Paul's befuddlement makes perfect sense.

You did *explicitly* state that its "sole purpose" was to show the source
and close the message.

There is actually a script floating around somewhere that works with
OE/E'rage that automatically generates one version of the spam cop reports
and sends it to several recipients (automatically including abuse@whatever
domain is relevant based upon the sender's address).

Although I can't recall for the life of me what it's called.
