Can anyone explain how I would create a custom View to display upcoming birthdays if I had entered such info on the personal tab of contacts?

Thanks,

I already answered Wendy on the newsgroup as follows:

Birthdays are saved as recurring events, which means they are just one event that repeats every year. If you enter the actual birth year, then they are saved for that year (could be 1914, or whatever). So DON'T include any criterion for how many days away they are, or you'll miss those. So you can't limit it to those coming up next month, or whatever, because you'll miss all of those. If you haven't included a year, they will be saved for the year where you entered the info (2000, or 2001 so far) but will also be repeated every year. So if you make it a point to NEVER include the birth year, then you could limit it as in the last line, although it will give you last month's birthdays as well as next months'. Otherwise, you'll just have pick and choose from the results.

If you want to avoid "Lincoln's Birthday", then include the holiday line here.

Items: <Calendar Events>
        <if ALL criteria match>

<Subject> <Contains> <Birthday>
<Category> <Is not> <Holiday>

--- [if no birthdays are saved with year of birth date, you can add:]
<Date> <is less than> <31> days from now  -- but use with care!

If anyone knows any more subtle ways, please chime in.
