I really want to run a script on machine A, which, in part, will send
appleevents to Entourage on machine B. This does not work:
using terms from application "Microsoft Entourage"
tell application "Microsoft Entourage" of machine "JohnTe"
get event 1
end tell
end using terms from
So, I pull out everybody's favorite little utility program, ResEdit, and I
turn on the "Local and Remote High-Level Event" flag in the Size resources.
Now, the above applescript seems to work well.
Before I get too deep into remotely scripting E'rage, are there any caveats
I need to be aware of? I realize that the fine developers at Microsoft
probably left that flag turned off for a reason, but will it really affect
me and my two macs in my home? Does any even care if I turn on that flag?
Will Microsoft go to further steps to prevent me from doing this in the
future?
