Greetings! In attempting to move files from one HD to
another, I've screwed up my Entourage database, which is
stored in the Documents folder. First, I copied everything
except my Applications folder and System folder to another
HD, in order to free up some space. Then I moved all of the
copied files to the trash. When moving to the Trash, I
received an error message saying something like "An error
has occurred with Messages. Continue moving to Trash?". I
answered yes, not thinking that Messages was my Entourage
e-mail message database.
Later, I realized that something had happend and have tried
to re-create my Messages database. Currently, I have my
latest backup copy of messages, but that is two weeks old.
It works fine. By switching copies of the Documents folder
that is in the Trash, I am able to open Entourage with my
most recent messages (from today to two weeks ago)
displayed in the window, but I can not open them. I get an
error message saying "The action can not be completed. The
end of file has been reached". Further, this messages
database is only 65k, while the real one should be 160mb,
or so. I can display the title of my most current messages,
but can't open them.
Is there any way to rebuild my messages database to today's
messages?
