As suggested by Paul Berkowitz, I rebuilt the database (advanced). This did
not restore the subfolders that were missing.

I then created a new subfolder of INBOX. I quit Entourage and reopened. The
subfolder was not there. This does not happen with subfolders of other
folders. Also, it does happen with Outlook Express 5.01.

Could someone else try this experiment and inform me of the results.

Could it be a bug? If so, to whom should I report it?
